Riverbed announced the general availability of Riverbed Smart OTel, delivering its approach to OpenTelemetry (OTel) that promises to deliver the right data at the right time for faster insights and decision-making.
This launch takes advantage of the OpenTelemetry (OTel)open-source framework that was designed for collecting, processing, and exporting telemetry data such as traces, metrics, and logs from applications and infrastructure. It is a part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and is widely adopted across modern IT infrastructures. This framework provides a standardized way to instrument applications for observability, allowing IT teams to monitor system performance and diagnose issues more efficiently.
Riverbed enhances OTel with AI
As part of the Riverbed Platform, Smart OTel enhances Riverbed Aternity and Network Observability solutions while also supporting third-party applications. This solution isn’t just collecting massive streams of raw telemetry; Riverbed’s Smart OTel filters and exports only the most relevant data for each specific event, leveraging AI, automation, and the patented Riverbed Data Store. By leveraging this targeted approach, operations teams will be able to reduce alert fatigue, simplify troubleshooting, and improve IT efficiency.
