Understanding The Caveats of Oracle Cloud Deployment Options

While Oracle has many technical advantages in its favor for mainstream customers building standalone Web-scale apps or ones that extend their Oracle apps in the Oracle Public cloud, CIOs should understand the limits of running Oracle in the cloud. For now, customers who want to build the same type of apps and run Oracle on other public clouds such as Amazon, Azure, and Google, the Oracle 11g and 12c DBMS’s have a showstopper: the inability to run at scale. Those public clouds don’t have the dedicated hardware that Oracle’s core 11g or 12c database needs in order to run at scale on a cluster.
