Jim Kobielus has joined Wikibon/SiliconANGLE.
Jim comes to us from IBM, where he was IBM’s data science evangelist and managed thought leadership, social, and influencer marketing programs targeted at developers of big data analytics, machine learning, and cognitive computing applications.
Jim is a veteran analyst, a prolific blogger, and a familiar face from his many appearances as an expert on the Cube and at industry events. Prior to his 5-year stint at IBM, Jim was an analyst at Forrester Research, Current Analysis, and the Burton Group.
At Wikibon, Jim is going to carry on his work helping developers turn big data analytics, the IoT&P, and the cloud into differentiating digital business systems. His focus areas will encompass data science, deep learning, and application development. He’ll work closely with George Gilbert on big data platform technologies, David Floyer on IoT and the edge, and myself on the cloud and digital business.
I worked at Forrester with Jim. While I was running a CIO research team, Jim was clearing the path on diverse topics like big data analytics, next-best-action technologies, social CRM, and predictive analytics. I used his research frequently with my CIO clients. His writing always was first rate and his research a step ahead.
We’re thrilled that Jim has joined the team. His first day will be April 3, 2017. Look for him on theCUBE, blogging for SiliconANGLE, and – of course – writing leading research on how developers and others are going to create the new digital systems that drive business and change the world.
